Position Title: Travel Counselor- Weekend Shifts
Position Status: Part Time Positions-starting Memorial weekend and ending Labor Day weekend.
Hours: Saturday – Sunday 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
            Other hours negotiable.
Position and Purpose: The Travel Counselor will be responsible for efficient and effective customer service at the Big Sky & Greater Yellowstone Welcome Center. The position requires knowledge of the Big Sky area hotel, lodging and camping options, attractions, recreational, entertainment, retail and dining opportunities. The successful candidate will interact positively with visitors and Chamber members in person, by email and over the phone. 
Visitors and members are our customers; therefore, providing excellent customer service will be critical to the successful performance of duties. The Travel Counselor will be responsible for a variety of tasks including but not limited to:
  • Collection and management of data to track demographics of visitors.
  • Answer telephone calls and general voice mails providing world class customer service.
  • Mailings to potential guests who ask for Visitor Guides.
  • Provide excellent customer service by providing clear, complete information on the many services and activities in Big Sky to walk-in visitors in the visitor center.
  • Keep brochure racks stocked and tidy.
  • Have proficiency in Excel, Word and Outlook with the ability to learn other databases if needed.
  • Visitor Services Center Upkeep.
  • Knowledge of Social Media a plus.
A positive attitude and the ability to prioritize projects while experiencing frequent interruptions is necessary. This position requires proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to take direction, to work independently and in a team setting.
This position is paid hourly at $14 per hour.
