Gallatin Invasive Species Alliance
The Gallatin Invasive Species Alliance is a locally led non-profit 501(c)(3) organization working to protect the ecological, aesthetic, and economic resources of the Gallatin Watershed through Management of non-native invasive plants (noxious weeds).
The presence of noxious weeds in the Gallatin Canyon and Big Sky area is directly attributed to human activity, such as construction, recreation, and travel (i.e., roads, trails, and water ways). Continued spread of noxious weeds negatively impacts wildlife, fisheries, water quality, downstream agricultural water users, scenic beauty, and property values.
By directly assisting landowners and bringing federal, state, and local partners together, the Committee facilitates a successful, comprehensive, and cost effective campaign against noxious weeds.
