Moonlight Basin is located on 8000 acres of Montana wilderness in beautiful Big Sky, Montana, just one hour north of Yellowstone National Park and one hour south of Bozeman, MT.
Moonlight is a mountain community energized by outdoor adventure and the endless array of experiences that come with life at the foot of Lone Mountain. Life here is built around all that Montana has to offer: skiing, hiking, biking, fishing, hunting, and a club that offers activities for the whole family – including many designed just for kids. Because when kids are given a chance to explore the natural world it profoundly changes their own.
Moonlight Basin serves as a vital link in a vast wilderness chain by connecting two major parts of the 260,000-acre Lee Metcalf Wilderness. These, in turn, are surrounded by 3 million acres of national forest, and ultimately joined with the 20-million-acre Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. And yet Moonlight Basin’s connection to the wilderness is not just physical. It’s philosophical. Preserving the things that make Moonlight Basin special is in our DNA. The more we protect, the more there is to enjoy – open spaces with unobstructed views, trailheads leading to tall forests and pristine alpine lakes, places where elk, deer and moose far outnumber humans – an ideal prospect for anyone with an adventurous spirit.
